I know safeway carries chicken raised in Southern MD, or they used to, other than that, no clue. I wouldnt buy chicken from the Amish personally..they dont treat the dogs they sell very well, why would chickens be any different

It's unlikely that you're going to be able to buy chickens from the Amish due to local health dept. regulations. The funny farm in Callaway used to sell free range organic chickens, but were barred from it last year because the the chickens were truly organic (no immunizations). The same situation applies to milk, it's illegal in MD. to sell unpasteurized (raw) to the public. It is also illegal for multiple people to purchase or lease a cow to get around this rule.

You could alternately try Zekiah Farms (Zekiah Farms (http://www.zekiahfarms.com)) in Bryantown. I think they sell an assortment of antibiotic and hormone free meats, including chicken

Thanks for the info!! I used to always just purchase the Perdue boneless skinless chicken breasts, however, with all the reports of antibiotics and what not being injected in the chicken I am trying to find something that I know does not have any addditives for my son. Its so confusing - the Perdu package says no added steroids or hormones. I have read that they dont inject the chicken but enject the egg?? Looks like I have more research I need to do on this topic!
