As far as I am concerned he should have been arrested! Anyone else would have..what if someone had been hit and killed? 128 in a 45 REALLY??

Almost 3 times the speed limit. In what I assume was a residential or commercial area (just a guess based on a 45mph zone).

Eff the fines, he needed that cop to give him a wood shampoo.

I guess Kevin Harvick wasn't able to knock any sense into him. Someone needs to though. Not the first time he's been in trouble and he's old enough to know better. Idiot! :smack:

There should be SOME kind of penalty/punishment levied by NASCAR for this.
"Rowdy's" "excuse"; and that's precisely what it was; should not be tolerated. JMHO

Not saying he shouldn't get what's coming to him, but why would NASCAR impose any punishment? Would your boss impose a punishment if you got a ticket while not on the clock? What he does on his own time is his business. He doesn't even "work" for NASCAR, he's employed by a race team.

However, his sponsors may have something to say about it and how it reflects on them, so there may be "punishment" from the team owner. On the other hand, the sponsors may love the attention he's getting, and he may get a bonus.

The old "actions detrimental to the sport ..." argument will be the reason NASCAR levies more fines. This is such a non story, and the fact that the link is to the NYT shows it was a slow news day. I guess every time there is a reckless driving incident it should make a paper as supposedly prestigious as the NYT.

And I think "Rowdy" is a stupid nickname for him. They're making him sound like a good 'ole boy from the Carolina backwoods when he's just a smug little Las Vegas suburbanite! "Punk-a$$ Shrub" is a much better fit :lmao:

:yeahthat: Especially since if this was the driver that the OP was rubbing his nubbin over this month it would be no big deal.
