In St. Mary's, the best knee guy is Dr. Mark Henderson in the Southern Maryland Orthopedics practice. They have an office in Leonardtown and up in Waldorf. He's the knee speciallist there and did two surgeries' on my daughter's knees. Really sweet guy, not quick to cut. Everyone loves him, so I'd send you there. Anyone of the doctors there are great, but I think he's the knee guy. (he's done my shoulder and hand surgeries too, and I've very happy with him.) Good luck!:howdy:

I have to disagree with this, but everyone may have a different opinion/experience. Henderson did a knee replacement on a relative, cut a nerve, and that person had to use a walker the remaining years left. Dr. Lloyd Cox, is by far, the best Ortho. doctor in St. Mary's. He and Henderson are or were from the same outfit, I believe which was started by Cox. Good luck!

Wow.

Thank you for the feedback, will keep that in mind. I just need someone to evaluate for now. Hopefully no cutting of any kind is required and if so I will look at the options/dicotrs when the time comes.

Have you ever been to a trainer to get it looked at? Have you ever had a movement screen or gait pattern test done before?

Hope you don't go thru what I have been having the past years. I started out having pain in my knee off & on until I finally went to a DR. Did Exrays & MRI and said I have Moderate to severe build up of RA in my knee. Had PT for several weeks , felt normal for a while and then pain ,stiffness came back . Now I have cortizone injections however knee replacement is next on horizon.

Try Icy Hot , Ice and Heat and Aleve . They will work for a while to relieve pain . Good Luck

Even the very BEST Doctor's get no-so-nice reviews. There is only ONE Orthopedic Doc I'd go too in the Tri-County area, and her name is Debra Spatz. She is in Calvert County. Other than that..I'd go out of town to a place where they do a LOT of what they do. It's my personal opinion, that in this neck of the woods, we are Guinea Pigs at one time, or another. When it comes to relatively SIMPLE procedures..I have no problem going to Local Doctors. But if & when the knife is mentioned..I'd go elsewhere.

I love Dr. Spatz and Dr. Rozran. SOMD Orthopedic in Leonardtown was awful. Told me I had one thing wrong with my knee, needed to operate and then all they did was remove some arthritis.

Hi! Im brand new to the forums! This looks like fun! I just received a pretty bad ankle injury from playing volleyball on the beach. I have been looking here for a recommendation for a good ortho, but am starting to worry after reading the reviews. Does anyone know of a good ortho for an ankle injury in calvert or st mary's? If not, maybe I should go out of town??? I need to get to one asap.Meantime, staying off of it!:otter:

As mentioned above..Dr Debra Spatz is the best Ortho in the Tri-County area. This is just my opinion, and I'm sure there's someone on the Forums that may say different. She's located in Prince Frederick. Welcome to the Forums, and to Calvert County!

Thank you so much! You are so kind. I will locate their number and call first thing. Hopin to find some friends here, it seems like a friendly place. :howdy:
From St. Mary's, so it's not that far of a move!

I enjoy the Forums, but there are times the Subject Matter brings out the worst in people..just roll with it, and enjoy!

I have not. Family doctor looked at it, had xray done and Dr Henderson loomed at me and the xray and didn't see anything. He sent me for a MRI that I did this past weekend.

I am just waiting for a follow up appointment. From what he told me and from what I been reading it might be a tear in the knee joint ligament. :cds:

I started taking Move Free Advanced and it has really helped me a great deal. I have osteoarthritis coupled with a very bad right knee. I'm sure that eventually I will be looking at a knee replacement surgery but I really what to put this off as long as possible. Now there are some side effects with this supplement... like gas. But personally, I'd rather fart than be in pain.
