I recently stumbled across Diva Cups online, I was wondering if anyone has any experience with the product or similar products. I am looking for actual information, and reviews so if you can't be an adult about this please just move on to another thread. Thanks

I understand that some people don't have much of anything to do with their time. I guess I can not hate on them, just ignore. I work at an auto body shop where I am the only female and also almost always the only estimator working. So dealing with traditional products is not always ideal... I guess if anyone has any actual information to share PM me. All others feel free to be immature on the thread.

May I suggest you look for a Diva forum so all of you can exchange ideas and cleaning tips.

As opposed to a "Ladies Room" fourm? It has nothing to do with cleaning, simply a lesser known alternative to something every woman needs during her life time. Pads are bulky and limiting, Tampons risk TSS, just looking for more information on a safer alternative, you don't like it, don't read it...

The Diva Cup holds fluid inside your body. A tampon does the same thing. How is using one a risk for TSS, but the other (DC) not? Material?

I wondered that myself..probably because the cup keeps it from coming in contact with your body, while the tampon holds it directly on the body best guess anyway

The main cause for TSS is staphylocccus aureus. Tampons help the infection along because they can cause small tears which allow the bacteria to enter the body. Extra absorabent tampons are more dangerous because the expand so greatly and can stick to the walls creating more tears upon removal. I don't believe the fluid has anything to do with TSS and would assume the material of the diva cup would minimize or eliminate tearing...

A rolled up newspaper would make a hell of a tampon.

Thanks. I stopped by Wawa on my way to the gym yesterday and picked up 2 copies. One to frame, and another just in case. Great pic and article. :yay:
