Why it is.....if you follow traffic using the "three-second rule" or just plain ol' common sense these days; and you leave space between you and the car in front of you; some schmuck will turn left in front of you; cut you off or hit you THEN scream 'didn't you see me pulling over?'?

CIP.....yesterday on the way home on "235 Raceway"; which it wasn't at that time; I was headed north catching EVERY red light; and somewhere around Red Robin, a Honda Odyssey or some similar type SUV just turns left; didn't even turn his d*mn head!! If I had not "locked 'em up" I would have hit the left rear quarter.

Folks.....today's vehicles are equipped with MIRRORS and turn signals. Use the mirrors FIRST; THEN use the turn signal; THEN the mirror again; THEN change lanes. It's a simple three-step process.

I was driving south on 235 at about 6pm, had a car cut across three lanes of traffic, had several people including me, slam on brakes, just to make a u turn in front of Immaculate Heart. If I hadnt been allowing space, I'd be dealing with an accident report today.

I used to enjoy driving. NOW; and especially since I was involved in a June 1st accident; I'm deathly afraid of being run over again while fully stopped.

And stop at Yeild Signs, which obviously Yield just means you have to accelerate faster than usual to find a spot to pull out in oncoming traffic.

Some yeild lanes are too short such as the one coming onto 235 S from Wildwood blvd. I still keep driving down the shoulder lane anyway to get in, there is room, most don't.

I use to exit that way every morning and there would always be like two or three cars just sitting there waiting on the 235 red light. I never understood that. If they wanted us to wait on a red light then they would install a "no right turn on red" sign right there. Usually I just keep a bit of distance and wait for the opening and pull out in traffic to the left and go around them.

I don't understand why they just don't continue the lane down to the next entrance....there room is there...

Good thing we don't have on-ramps like the beltway, huh? I've seen MANY people STOP on an on-ramp. Talk about "accordion potential".....

Kind of sucks cause I have no where to put my lose change now.

Most newer cars don't, but they do make ashtray "cups" that will fit in the cup holder, which is pretty standard equipment these days.

I'm a smoker, but people tossing butts out the window irks me, too.

WOW! I was 100% unaware that they don't still come standard in all cars.
Well, at any rate, if you're a smoker, quit throwing your butts onto the streets.

You use your turn signals coming up to an intersection and some punk ass kid will hit the nitrous button on his ricer burner and speed up so you can't turn (even if you're already in the lane).

Dude is lucky there's a god, he wasn't on his brakes at all when I was already in the turn lane... he clearly would've had no problem killing both of us.

Then going down MD-6, the dude was going off the shoulder and through the grass to pass cars. I get being in a hurry, but you're never gonna get where you're going if you're on a gurney while your car sits in the middle of the road totaled.

I agree; either put a real run-up/merge lane in, or take away the merge altogether. As I drive southbound in the morning, I try to be helpful, but it is hard to tell whether mergers will stop and wait or slowly pull out in front of me at 30 mph. A good merge lane would help people get up to speed. I agree that you should just drive on the shoulder; few people do that.

This one from about a month ago still has me shaking my head. When making a left turn from Route 4 onto 235 South and in the middle turning lane at that, some dumbass in front of me completely stops after getting through the intersection, sat completely still for about 30 seconds until all of the outer-lane turning cars pass, and then made a right turn into Wawa. Let's just say everyone behind him was not very happy. Not a smart person.

Until a few months ago, there were only 2 turn lanes. The one they were in would have been correct before before they changed the turn signs
