Getting ready. It only happens every couple of years or so.

Hope it pops before Friday because it's at work and only lasts one day.

Except it has babies without needing the flower or pollination so what is the point? They just pop off momma cactus like crazy. Want some?

I thought so when I first figured out those little arms were actually trying to sprout roots. I pulled a bunch off and stuck them in the ground and HEY! more cacti!

Yes. I love cactus. You can pick up some bell peppers, jalapenos and People Magazines in the process.

I'll let you try that. I use boxes and leather gloves personally.

I'm sure if my landlord could see the pic he'd be able to tell you it's name. His favorite though is what I call a broadleaf cactus that roots each new leaf and earlier this month it had the most brilliant yellow flowers ever. He has several cactus around his heat pump and knows all their names having worked for ASDA for a number of years. I'll attempt to show it to him when he next visits Saturday.

Hey DR... that plant looks to have a few years on it. Any idea how old it is?

It got it from the desert around 1979 and it was about 4" at that time. Some of it's 2 year old offspring are about 2" tall, but probably not living in the best conditions. My guess would be about 34-35 years old.

Blooming today. Got a pic and will post later. I tried sending it to my work address, but it doesn't seem to be coming through.
