Tax-Free Shopping Week from August 14th-20th.

I just spoke with the Comptroller's office, and the tax free rule applies only to qualifying clothing and footwear $100 or less.

If the purpose of this is to help people with their back to school shopping, I was amazed to see that both "Bookbags" and "Backpacks" are on the taxable list. Aren't they one of the more popular items purchased for school use?

Exempt: Bowling shirts and bowling shoes??

Some of the other things on this list are really odd. Who made this crap up? It's silly.

Delaware is always a tax free shopping holiday
And I don't have to carry some list of items that I can buy.
