I just want to recommend Alexander's Tree Service. We had a very big dead pine tree that we really wanted to get down before the hurricane, especially since we were afraid it would fall on the house. I called several people on tues evening, hoping that miraculously we could get it down by Sat. I was able to reach Alexander's tree Service when I called, and arrange that they would be out the next day for an estimate. They showed up when they said they would be there. The estimate was incredibly reasonable after the exorbitant estimate we had received several months ago.
They showed up early (today) Friday morning and had the tree down in an hour. They were quick, and put everything down safely and without any damage. We were super happy and would use them again in a heartbeat.
As you can tell we're really happy the tree is gone whether this hurricane hits or misses us.

Do you know if they are bonded/insured?/licensed?

Yes, licensed, yes, insured, I don't know about bonded, though. But when I was calling around I didn't notice anybody that said they were.

Why did you wait two days before a hurricane to remove a tree that might fall on your house?
Have you bought your TP yet?

After the $3200. estimate from one tree company, and the fact that several other companies we tried apparently can't return phone calls, my husband was taking it down little by little. When this hurricane became an issue for this area, we called them because he couldn't take the rest down by himself.
