View Full Version : Leases in the La Plata area?
Hi, I have just moved to the La Plata area (on rt 6), and I have been itching to get back into horses. I started riding professionally at Loftmar Stables at seven years old, taking lessons and mucking stalls until eventually I got my first horse at age 12. I continued to take lessons and attend events at the novice level until the need for a new horse arose. I sold my dear gelding and acquired my first competition horse. I rode 6 days a week with several different trainers, for years. After the birth of my first child at seventeen, I realized I no longer had time to compete and continue to train my mare. However, riding is something I've missed dearly, as well as just spending time around the barn. I am looking for someone with a lease available for one or two days a week, or even someone looking for a groom (I would obviously not seek compensation.), or a barn that offers lessons without the need to provide your own horse. I am a full-time nursing student at CSM, employee at Calvert Memorial Hospital, and parent of two young kids, so unfortunately owning is just not fiscally or logistically possible for me right now. I'd appreciate anyone who could point me in the right direction!!
