Cat has been found!

My cat blackberry has gotten loose last night. Our house in town creek was destroyed by the hurricane, our dogs were able to stay in the hotel, buto our cat stayed with our neighbors. Last night he escaped. Black cat, white b ib. And chin big round yellow eyes. Please kee a look out. We've lost a lot recently but the kids and animals safe are all that matters. Your kitty will probably find his way home. They are like dogs and have a homing instinct. Keep neighbors on the lookout.

If Blackberry ends up in my neighborhood I will snatch him up for you and keep him safe. Again, he probably will find his way back to your destroyed home...so sorry that happened to you.

When I evacuated I knew I could maybe take the dog but not the cats. Dog is much easier. The cats are terrors being transplanted (JMO)

Also, animal control is out in full force. Call the local shelters and post a picture for us and send one to them. If you don't have a picture then you might need to visit.

Kitty will come home, you'll see. Have you tried going back to your house and calling him? Maybe set out some food and wait? I'll bet he's close to home.

Maybe you should get a trap and set it at your old house with a nice open can of albacore packed in spring water inside.

I will keep an eye out plus food and water on porch in case cat shows up.

He is indoor only. I hope he stayed close. We called and called. I really exected to see him come running.

Cats are pretty good at taking care of themselves. I'll bet he comes back when all the noise etc. is over. I never got down your street always blocked by trucks. If you need anything, let me know.

If he is indoor he could be gone for a few days exploring his new world. Don't freak out, he will likely show up.

Hey Geek, I'm just checking in today. Sorry you lost your kitty, and evidently had extensive damage to your house... BUT, I'm glad you found your kitty!!!! Houses can be repaired!!!! Pets, though they can be "replaced" are like people and each one is special! I'm really, really glad yours is home safe and sound!! :huggy:
