Anyone with a back hoe can shove them back in the hole. Then it's just a matter of grinding.

Co-worker said he was going to power wash his to get all the dirt off, then use his chainsaw and cut it up.

This
If you have a pressure washer use the tip with the small hole. It shoots out a jet of water like a laser. It cuts right through the clay and compacted soil in the roots. Then cut it up with an old chain on your saw because there can be rocks still embedded in the roots. Or you can hook onto it and drag it to a location to dry for a year then burn it.

My neighbor did that. County came by and picked up the pile. It was still a pretty big chunk.

Hills Excavating. They won't cheat you with price either like a lot of other tree companies have been.

Remember anytime you hit dirt with a chain saw it dulls the chain very quick....Just be careful...

We hired J Brown Excavating, he use to work for the Hill's before starting his own business.
Jay Hill came out here and said he couldn't beat Justin's bid, and also told me that Justin does great work.
He starts here on Wednesday.

:yeahthat: Either one is very good and both are reasonable in cost. For Jay to admit that Brown does great work, just shows the honesty and integrity that Jay has. Good luck with your clean-up!
I had Hills do mine and within 2 1/2 hours 10 trees with massive root balls were loaded & gone with top soil in the holes. I have new grass growing and you would never know that my yard looked like a disaster zone.

We lost alot of trees.....We were able to save the big pear tree that went over we just took the back hoe and pulled it upright and then tied it and supported it up...the Apple on the other hand went up then went over the other way..probably too many apples...The other trees we did not try to save..big maple etc...we just tried to knock the dirt off as much as possible (Love the power washer idea) and then just dug it out with the BH and filled in the hole hand raked it smooth...most of the places we fixed look great now...and the insurance company has not even been by yet...Good luck...
I too would trust Larry Hills...great guy

Appreciate all the great feedback; I will give Hills a call today. If not there will be a lot of clean stumps
