Anyone have a PC-to-Scanner cord for a Radioshack Pro-97 scanner that they're willing to part with? I can't really justify paying $35 for the cord that Radioshack is trying to sell.

Not sure what cable you need. I couldn't find any info on Radio Shack's website. Give me an idea and I may be able to help.

It appears all that is needed is a simple, give-them-away-by-the-thousands, USB cord according to this. (http://wiki.radioreference.com/index.php/Pro-97) You may have one lying around the house (depending on whether it's USB1, USB2 (doubt it's USB3 already).

Check out this link too. (http://wiki.radioreference.com/index.php/Connecting_scanners_via_USB)

The actual cord I need has to be USB-to-PC/IF. The cord at Radioshack is here (http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=4233363)

Proprietary cord. You'd best pay the $35.00 + tax if you want to connect to your PC.

Still holding out hope that someone may have one that they don't use anymore or just don't need.

Thanks, but after ordering it online, accounting for shipping, it'd be about the same price. If I don't have any other choice, I will go that route though.

Would this work? Amazon.com: Radio Programming Cable USB for Motorola GP88S GP2000: Electronics (http://www.amazon.com/Radio-Programming-Cable-Motorola-GP2000/dp/B002Z3KFZK)

Unfortunately, it won't. It looks like Radioshack scanners only accept the USB to PC/IF interface. That hooks up to the headphone jack to transfer data.
