yeah IMHO we should drop a few nukes on Middle Eastern Capitals and major cites on the way out the door, and dare some rag head to hijack a plane again ........

630 am back in the day was wcoa, they played the top ten. I think it was Johnny Dark doing the music, and Bob Bartell doing news and sports.

at least that was the baltimore station for top 10, then when that failed WPGC in Morningside was the rock station,, 70s

It is getting  now. Romney was never "in", Perry really seemed good until he went over the edge and now Cain seems like the guy (Florida agrees).

Quite a change for 105.9! From classic rock to all talk. AM radio is all but dead. I don't know why they're even still around. Especially when they "power down" around 7pm or when a storm is happening; then it's almost impossible to hear them. I listen to some of the "talking heads" online and on satellite radio. Much better! Savage & Levin are about the only ones I listen to anymore...

When do you think we should increase our own oil production capacity?

When do you think we should stop illegal immigration?

When do you think we should end ethanol subsidies?

When do you think we should stop bailing out companies with public money?

When do you think we should end Obamacare?

When should we start auditing the Fed?

How long should we typically continue failed policies?

Any other kookie ideas I missed?

We don't need a FENCE!!! Land of the free, home of the brave, damn it!

We need policy that lends itself to rationale immigration quotas. We need to take action where appropriate. I would make a 30 day deployment to the border a part of every boot camp, between graduation and AIT and have all the services responsible for huge swaths of land. Anything but a fence.

Fixed fortifications are a monument to the stupidity of man.

George S. Patton

Perry's family has a long term lease on 1,000 acres of hunting land and it has been known as '######head" for a long time. The excuses; it is leased thus not his problem. And it was changed several years ago. And lots of people from his home town thought nothing of it.

Perry is, thankfully, done.

I don't care HOW. I just think policy problems should be solved with policy solutions.

Whatever the immigration policy, it MUST included REMOVING incentives like FREE stuff. No free anything; work for it. I am also a national ID guy. I am also cool with paying people cash though I can't, and would never, do such a thing. Bill people. Charge them for government.

Except a fence isn't a fixed fortification. Patton smartly observed that when men dig in and sit in a spot, they might as well put a bulls-eye on themselves.

Fences worked exceedingly well along the Russian border, although it was actually built to keep people from getting OUT. I know that in parts it was doubled, barbed at the top and had dirt roads along them for occasional patrols. The stories I've read of crossings demonstrate that the Soviets were very good at keeping it clear.

I'm not in favor of a fence at all if there's no intelligent means of enforcing immigration law once they get on this side. An enormous number of illegals in this country are people who have long overstayed their visas - meaning, they got IN legally, they just didn't didn't go home when the party was over.

I've mentioned this before but - when I was in Russia several years ago, I had to report every so many days on where I was to their state department or be in violation of my visa. The validation stamp was issued to me then, so if called in question, I had to produce it. I don't know if this is true of everyone - I know it wasn't necessary when I was in Ethiopia, but then they really didn't care much whether I was there or not - my visa application took two minutes at the airport. But in Russia the folks with me warned, if you're stopped without your passport OR without that slip accessible by you - you get sent home. I could not check into a hotel without it, and my guess is I certainly couldn't get a JOB without valid ID.

We've just made it too easy for people to stay here illegally, that until recently, they've made no effort to go.

because until recently (15 yrs or so) no one care in a few 1000 people over stayed their visa every yr

but with 25,000 Mexican'ts coming across the border every month for yrs ...... it gets problematic

I am an incentive guy. Most people come here for opportunity. Check.
Most just want a better life for their family and themselves. Check.
This includes free schooling, medical care and other social service. BBXZZZT

Any sensible immigration policy begins with a goal; how many folks do we want to assimilate a year? Oh...assimilate. That is another problem. We've disincentived the desire, and any requirement, to assimilate.

I mean, it is all easy, doable stuff.

Thus, another fatal flaw is identified.

If I had to write a check to Uncle Sam 26 times a year for even one dime, I'd be pissed. In this day and age, having to write on slips of paper and use the mail is ridiculous. If I had to do that, I'd immediately find a way to automate it, especially since the exact same amount would be due at the time my paycheck arrived.

And I can't guess the cost of trying to manage and track payments done on paper and keeping them up to date would add, JUST SO PEOPLE would pay attention to the amount. That, and the added cost of missed payments.

On a similar vein, we could handle state sales taxes by having people save all their sales receipts and send in checks once a month. Like THAT would ever work.

I realize you guys are not serious but the idea is so impractical on its face it's almost funny, since the only advantage added would be so people would notice something they already have the ability to do.

Guess I'm not getting exactly what is identified as "fatal flaw".

We cannot assimilate or absorb or whatever term you wish to use - everyone who wants to come here, anymore than you can take in every stray animal that wants to live in your house and eat your food. We can't. There are 20 non-Americans for every American in this country, and from my experience, just about all of them wouldn't mind coming here and getting free benefits. As you've no doubt seen on the NumbersUSA video, even if we took in tens of millions every year, we wouldn't put a dent in the numbers of people across the globe who'd like to live here.

If we want to help people have opportunity, they have to do it in their own home. We can't give it to them here. I've often wondered how Mexico would prosper in agriculture if the country of Mexico would allow agribusiness to own or develop farm property within their borders and let people collect American type wages and benefits.

We do have limits on our legal immigration system, and I still think they're too high. Illegal immigration just makes it that much worse.

... yeah well, true ... ok fine I pay my CC's online ....... let people pay the taxes the same way

point is, people start getting there REAL pay check .... it might wake them up to the TRUE cost of Gobberment

I did a quick check of the entire AM radio band and it is 80% foreign broadcasts. Mostly Spanish, a few in English and one or two in other languages.
