This happens more times than I care to count on Great Mills Road. It happens a few other areas in the County as well. Not enough lights on the road and the people that cross it typically wear dark clothes, while crossing with a sense of "entitlement" that traffic will automatically see them just because they are in the road. This process of course leads to a deadly combination.

You hit the nail on the head. I can't tell you the amount of times I've had to slam on the brakes when someone came out into traffic or was walking down the middle of the turn lane when I'm trying to make a left turn.

I think you heard another call. There was a CPR in Progress on New Market Turner Rd shortly after this call went out. That patient was a priority 4. This patient was flown to PG Shock Trauma Category B, Priority 1

Does anybody know what happened on Route 4 yesterday around Indian Bridge Road around 5pmish? We saw two motorcycles and one was smushed to pieces. I've been hoping that everybody was okay.

We saw it too, never did see an ambulance but met the fire truck when we got to Ltown. They were a long time getting there!

Categories have been used for a little bit in conjuction with SYSCOM and hospitals to categorize a patients injuries, and determine the need for aeromedical transport. Check out this (http://forums.somd.com/3964183-post3.html) link for more info on the categories.
As for Indian Bridge Rd, a motorcyclist wrecked. He was taken to SMH priority 2.

Thanks G1G4. I'm so glad he survived that, as the bike looked horrible. Wishing him a speedy recovery.

Just last week, the new driver and I were coming down GMR eastbound near the liquor store farther down towards Great Mills, at night. I was doing my standard stream of consciousness thing, explaining hazards particular to whatever we are doing at the time.
I mentioned that GMR's particular hazard was folks crossing in the dark, heading to or away from the liquor stores, which of course indicates that perhaps their judgement might be impaired. That in fact there was a fatal in front of the easternmost one a couple years back. Just as I said that, someone appeared in front of me, I slowed, daughter asked why, then noticed the person in dark pants and shirt moving across the roadway at a walk, uncaring of our approach. "Whoa, that was scary, I didnt even see him til after you slowed down".
