Will he throw Iran under his bus, along with Rev. Wright, his grandmother, his party and, well, the nation, in an effort to try and get re-elected?

In the final analysis, he's a coward.

In the final analysis, he's a coward.

Maybe but, in the FINAL analysis, he is a malignant narcissist and has shown, time and again, he will do what he sees as in his interest.

His best long-term interest would have him elect to not run for re-election rather than face humiliating defeat. At the moment, the only thing that will assure that is for a worthy candidate from the opposition to appear.

I disagree. For a person like him, the WH, the top, is ALL.

To be deferred to, genuflected to, waited on, served, treated like the king of the world, to have the power to behave in the name of an entire nation, the greatest nation in the history of nations, as he sees fit.

For him, for Clinton, that job, that position is the be all, end all and, for people like them, everything after that just sucks.

For people like Dubbya, whom I disagree with most of his major decisions...OK, all of them...he at least has the humility to acknowledge the enormity of the job and that it is bigger than the person occupying the seat and a guy like Dubbya is all too happy to be out of there.

I think. :buddies:

How does a president throw a country we don't have formal diplomatic relations with, "under the bus"

I'm just waiting for him to leave. A hundred soldiers to central Africa for something? Same stuff as so many times before. Come on, now! We can stop the world cop business. We have pirates and druggies and others to deal with.

Well, we threw Iraq and A'stan under the Bush. Or, did we have diplomatic relations with them?

Point being, if Obama thinks going to war with Iran helps him, will he do it?

He'll do it Clinton style, if he does it at all. A few drone strikes, maybe a few long range cruise strikes against the nuke facilities.

Yes we have diplomatic relations with both Iraq and Afghanistan.

and no we won't go to war with Iran until after they nuke Israel. He will in no way do anything to help the only stable democracy in the middle east.

There will be no 'after they nuke Israel'. If Israel ever ####s up enough to allow them the first punch, there will be nothing left of Iran for us to go to war with.

So, given his only chance of going to war with Iran is BEFORE Israel kills them, do you think this is a Tonkin type deal where Obama is looking to use Iran for his own personal political gain?

Obama will do nothing unless Iran nukes Israel.

Israel will always be their first target,
Obama won't stand for being Israel's protector in the eyes of his muslim brethren by conducting any preemptive strike against a fellow muslim.
Obama had his chance to destabilize the current regime after their last elections but the fear that there would be more pro-democracy/pro-American governments in the region stayed his hand.

He is anti-American and you can predict his actions based on his belief that America has raped and pillaged it's way to greatness.

Whose side does he come down on between Saudi and Iran?

Whose side does he come down on between Saudi and Iran?

This was one day's news, then nothing else heard. I'm beginning to think the whole thing was fabricated. Why isn't Saudi Arabia bombing the crap out of Iran? Why isn't Saudi Arabia garnering up support from other Arab nations to bomb the crap out of Iran? Why isn't Saudi Arabia going to the UN demanding action? This reeks of wag-the-dog.

Yup. Operation 'Get Eric's Ass Out of the Fire' has come and gone. Not one freaking word of late here.

And this just yesterday, coincidentally:

How dare you! Why, we have gone well out of our way, for several generations now, to make Iran our problem!!

NOW we are getting somewhere.

"Today, the United States has insisted, once again, that the Israeli's play nice and give back the Arabs their lunch suggesting it is bad for the bigger kids self esteem to get beat down like this time and again and that Israel should let them win one once in awhile."
