Has anyone read these books? I started the first one Thursday night and stayed in my pj's all day yesterday to finish off the last one. :blushing: I know that they're supposed to be YA books, but I really enjoyed them. I thought the conclusion of the last book was a little lacking, but I usually feel that way when reading the last of a series of books (except for Harry Potter, which I suppose has spoiled me by being incredibly thorough and wrapping up loose ends appropriately). I felt like a lot of things were glazed over or hurried along to get to the end. Is it just me?

Yep, I did. Liked the first one the best.

Sure did, read them early summer. Took me 3 days of pool side reading to finish them. Such a great read. I do agree about the ending though. But I'm not really sure how else it could've ended.

I really liked the books too and felt the same way about the ending as well. I can't wait for the movie. I hope they do it justice.

I'm okay with how it ended, but so much emphasis was put on how much Peeta loved Katniss throughout the whole series, and she's just like "Ok, well I guess I pick him". It just seemed disproportionate. I wish at some point she would have acknowledged that she did really love him love him, other than just throwing it in the last few pages. She got her feelings hurt when she overheard Gale saying that she would eventually choose the one she couldn't survive without, but it sums her up perfectly. It just seemed like he loved her so much and she only cared about him when it was convenient for her. And at this point I realize I need to walk away and get over it. :roflmao:

Oh, I agree and I wanted her to pick Peeta the whole time. And now that I think about it, it may have just been a reminder that she really was just a 17 year old girl and not good at relationships.

Read these at the same time as my 12-year-old and loved them. The first movie in the series is coming out next March. I think it will give the whole Twilight movie series a run for it's money.

If you loved this series, you may want to consider "The Uglies" series by Westerfeld. Good stuff. I also got sucked into the Fever series by Moning. Damn series, once you read one, you have to finish them all!

There's a thread about the movie in the movie forums ;). I've yet to see it but I read the first book faster than the other two because it was more suspenseful I think, so I didn't wanna stop.

I read the second book, I'm about 3/4 of the way through the third. WOW.
