Mainly, I think it's two lanes too narrow with no median divider. I don't know but I guess that one measure of a highway feature's design is to measure the accident rate. And the bridge problems can't be solved with a traffic light.

The 4 lane bridge on rt 2 Edgewater/Annapolis is a "nice" bridge. Nice wide lanes, a median and a breakdown shoulder.
