This morning my beloved Keurig decided it didn't want to make coffee anymore. Wouldn't pump water most of the time, and when it did pump it backed hot water up into the reservoir. This happened to me before and the Keurig people sent me a new brewer.
Not wanting to live without my Keurig for that long again, I did a google search. One forum said to "burp" it: remove the water reservoir and any K-cups in the holder, tip it upside down and give it a slap on the bottom.
It worked.
My Keurig is back to normal, churning out joe like it always has. So there's your tip for the day.

Thanks for the Keuring tip. We've never had it not pump before, but will keep this in mind.
I will occasionally run a resevoir of water through it without making any coffee in the process. We also only use filtered (Brita pitcher) water in it.
I hear that it helps to run a vinegar/water mix through it to cut down on the scaling, but I've never done it and the coffee doesnt taste odd.

Call the 800 number for the company when you're close to your machine and they'll run you through some troubleshooting. Have a paperclip or a needle or large safety pin handy when you call. Mine started out like yours and finally sputtered to a stop and their customer service was amazing. You'll have to read them your serial number that's found on the front on the bottom, so have some light handy, too.
Luckily, mine was still under warranty and they sent me a new one (better model at that) in less than a week - I just had to send the KCup recepticle thingamabob back.
One of the first questions they asked me was did I use it to make hot chocolate - apparently that's notorious for gumming up the works.

That sounds really good. Is there a place locally that sells a variety of the flavored K-Cups? I like Kona and Donut Shop usually, but want to try something else. If not I can order a bunch online to try.

That's a good question. I always buy mine at Giant and that's usually what they have Kona and Donut Shop which are good but I'd like to experiment without paying a shipping charge. Looked in Kohls and Belk and they pretty much have the same as Giant.

Yep. I can find French Vanilla and Hazelnut pretty easily, but they aren't fancy. I do like Gloria Jean's Hazelnut.

Whenever that happens I hit brew and then play the drums on top until it finally sputters through the right spout. I've learned to do a test run first so as to not ruin a perfectly good k-cup.
Might be easier to tip it upside down though.. thanks for the tip!

Same here, we have the Plumbed B105 at work and the coffee service we use gives us about 200 k-cup choices.
Keurig was free as long as we buy our coffee from them, we just had to install it ourselves as we were outside their service area. Keurig, plumbing kit and inline water filter were all free.

You can raise it to, I think, 190 degrees-ish. Which is drinking temp, and fine with me. The single cup model - the really small one that you have to fill each time you make a cup - is a LOT hotter than that. No idea what the actual temp is, but it's so hot that the coffee will burn you if you don't let it cool first.

Thanks for the info. I guess I'll have to actually take a look at the directions and raise the temp a little. With a toddler, my coffee doesn't stay hot for long so I'd like it to come out a little hotter so my first few sips are more than luke warm.

I bought a B&D coffee maker to tide me over while my Keurig was being replaced* and also so I could get flavored coffee that they don't make for K-Cup. It leaked all over the place, to the point that I kept it in the sink so it wouldn't pee all over my counter and run onto the floor. B&D sucks, as far as I'm concerned.
* Keurig will replace any defective brewer, no questions asked. They really stand behind their product.

Pretty disappointed in ours, we got one for Christmas and it would not work this morning says prime error. We only use filtered water in it. Don't get me wrong when it works the coffee is great, but didn't last a month.
That sucks. I received a B70 for Christmas and so far, so good.
Hitting about 6-8 cups a day... hope the newness wears off soon, I can't take much more coffee.

Well that sure sucks! I got one for Christmas too, so far we've had no issues. But I keep hearing how great their customer service is so give 'em a call and see what they say. I've heard they're great about replacing machines as needed and don't give their customers a lot of hassle.
