In the case above, Android 3.1 is the operating system used on the Logitech Revue Google TV device. In general, the Android OS is used on many mobile phones and other portable tablet like devices; much the same as iOS is the operating system for Apple iPhones and iPads, etc.
While the devices themselves are expensive, many mobile carriers and other third party businesses (Wirefly) subsidize much, if not all, of the cost by offering service contracts or extensions to service contracts. etc., etc......:coffee:

ya know, i first installed a logitec review a couple years ago for a dish customer, dish was giving a $99 discount for their subscribers, so the total price came to $199, I thought it was a pretty good deal then, but I just got one this christmas for $79 from amazon for myself, personally I think its gotta whole lotta bang for very little buck, great little gadget. having a blast with it and amazon prime streaming vids,
