RE: Michelle Bachmann "Hates Muslims"

Commentary and letter to Ron Paul regarding his interview with Jay Leno - televised 12/16/11
Ron Paul on Michele Bachmann: ‘She Hates Muslims’ - Yahoo! News (http://news.yahoo.com/ron-paul-michele-bachmann-she-hates-muslims-160005413.html)

Dear Sir,

Prior to your 12/16/11 interview with Jay Leno, I had a high respect for you as a patriotic leader and potential president and protector of the United States. However, your comments about Michelle Bachman hating Muslims and Rick Santorum not liking Muslims were completely out of line in the context that you portray. I do not believe that either Bachman or Santorum hates/dislikes Muslims as individual human beings and as you made it sound. I do believe that, in the interest of preserving America's freedoms for all people and in the interest of national security, both of them are wary of Muslims and the fundamental ideological intentions that Islam represents against this country. Therefore, please publicly explain your position on Sharia Laws and whether you believe or do not believe that Islam and Western forms of Democracy are compatible. I would like to have you publicly state your position on the Fundamental ideologies of Islam and if you support Muslims in America giving precedence to their beliefs over the U.S. Constitution. Thank you,

I listened to his entire Q&A session on Leno last night and what surprised me the most was the audience responses to his answers. He said a LOT of good conservative things and they applauded him! (Leno's groupies are mostly libs). They gave him 2 standing ovations, which really shocked me!

I did hear him say that about Bachman and Santorum. He was actually doing great up to that point and it was the only time they boo'd. The problem was that I wasn't sure if they were booing him or Bachman & Santorum.

I'm sure the liberal audience would have boo'd at the mention of Bachmann and Santorum anyway, but here I sensed that the audience was also booing at the sentiment toward Muslims that Ron Paul attributed to Bachmann and Santorum where he claimed they "hate/dislike" Muslims. I would definitely like to have Ron Paul express his public sentiment regarding the Islamic ideologies that influence Muslims in their goal to replace the U.S. Constitution with Sharia and whether he feels that Bachmann and Santorum are indeed justified in their concerns (which is not hate) regarding Muslims.

It would have been interesting if Jay Leno would have had an immediate response by asking Ron Paul what he thought about Muslims and their belief in wanting to establish Sharia in America. The concerns that presidential hopefuls Bachmann and Santorum share.
