An Avon Lake teen told police a man stole her pantyhose so he could fix his car.

It happened at about 7:30 p.m. in the Union Street garage in Crocker Park on Jan. 6.

According to Westlake police, the 16-year-old girl was accosted by a man who was demanding her pantyhose. The man said he needed them so he could fix his car’s exhaust system. The girl gave the man the pantyhose and then he ran off.

The victim described the man was in his 20s, wearing a camouflage baseball cap and a dark-colored Northface-style coat.

Westlake police said officers and security personnel searched the area for the man, but did not find him. They also checked the Crocker Park surveillance system, but the incident was not recorded.

Hmmm, heard of using them to fix a fan belt (back before serpentine belts six fet long:)) but never an exhaust. Maybe to tie it up towards the rear of the car?

thats why I said towards the rear of the the car, might not get hot enough back there to melt them. Cant say, havent tried it.

ye,a he'll fix a car with them, but in a more indirect manner. he needed the panty hose to put on his head so he could rob a car parts store without being identified on camera. you see, the panty hose were just phase 1 of the plan to get the part he needed to fix his car.

The exhaust tail pipe will still be too hot. I tried nylon Tyes before and the heat caused them to break.

What do you expect, the exhaust was dragging on the ground, and it wasn't assualt, I..., umm, they, asked nicely and tried to explain the situation. Yes, it melted the panty hose and I was right back, ummm, they were right back were they started. Wait, I'm sure you're right the exhaust would melt the panyt hose, it didn't last more then 2 miles before it fell off again, well, I'm betting it wouldn't last more then 2 miles before it fell off again.
