OK, my laptop has no HDMI port, and the TV does. How do I get the laptop to play on the TV? Is there a VGA plug with and HDMI end, or is there something with a usb end for the laptop and with HDMI end to plug in the TV?

Sounds like you need a VGA to HDMI converter, here is a link to a bunch of them. Some caveats, so read carefully
vga to hdmi converter - Google Search (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&source=hp&q=vga+to+hdmi+converter&gbv=2&oq=vga+to+hd&aq=1&aqi=g10&aql=&gs_sm=c&gs_upl=2485l5594l0l8016l9l9l0l3l3l0l204l876l0.4.2l6l0)
Tech Note for 720p HDTV: The only laptop or computer resolution setting that is compatible between the 90-12014 and 720p HDTV is 1280 x 720 @ 60Hz. Make sure your computer or laptop has that resolution setting before purchasing this unit. Also make sure in the graphics media driver settings of your computer that both the computer AND remote monitor has the refresh rate set to 60Hz.

VGA to VGA Your tv is a monitor. It's highly unlikely that the only input is HDMI.
I don't know of any HDMI to non HDMI adapters.

Now I know..... but I don't think I'd fork over the 95 bucks.. think I'd upgrade to a newer laptop first.

Check out Monoprice.com for cables if you don't feel like getting bent over at Radio Shack.

Thanks all, and yes there is a VGA port on the tv, never paid attention to it because I was always hearing people say HDMI tv. Never heard of monoprice.com, learn something new every day. Darn I got rid of my VGA cables when I gave my old desktop monitors away. I try to stay far away from radio shack as possible.

They also sell VERY cheap TV wall mounts. It's where I get most of my stuff for side jobs.
