If you are reading this, you are on the new server.
If you encounter any issues, please report them here. Please limit posts to useful info. There is still a lot of work to do and not having to wade through nonsense would be a big help :)
There is still more work to be finished and the forums will likely go on and offline Sunday afternoon until everything is wrapped up.
P.S. We are running much newer versions of the software...there are many new features and some things may work differently.
There were two major version changes between where we were and are now. Here are links to new features for each version:

Minor - there's a link to Chat at the bottom of the main page, but it refers you the main page to log in, doesn't seem to be a Chat. Not that anyone actually uses it.......

We have discussed removing chat because no one seems to use it. My personal opinion is that online chat is a thing of days gone by. If anyone feels we should keep it, make a case now or forever hold your peace :)

Are you going to have a list of new features? I was checking out profiles and see that you can leave messages, blah blah blah --- and that locating the member list is now under "community." It is going to take some getting used to.
BTW, David, thanks for your hard work in all this and keeping the forums around.

I like it and it would be nice to have it as an option, especially since you can set up private chat rooms. I think it got a bum rap a while ago and not a lot of people know about it (how to use it, how to fix access problems, etc.). It would be nice to do a little bit of PR & "how-to's" (sticky tab) perhaps in a new category, and give it a chance to get going again before deleting forever. Yes, people can chat on email & facebook but not all of us choose to have forumites on our personal email & facebook accounts. Chat allows a different, faster way of discussing an issue other than doing so in a forum posting.
It might be nice to start having regularly scheduled "chats" on selected topics on selected days just to get it going again. It may be a "thing of days gone by" for advanced techies but not everyone fits into that category.

Are you going to have a list of new featuresThat will be up to Deejay to compile and post a list of new features. You can probably discover many yourself by just poking around. Some of the most notables I have seen are the ability to LIKE threads, the new social groups (I set up one for IT Professionals) and photo albums. Someone else already mentioned the attached photo viewer.
Editing posts is also a lot more efficient.
The blog code is also a major update.
I'll make a few other major announcements probably later today.
Where is Karma????

If not today, some time in the next week.

Where is Karma????
Unfortunately, karma was abused in that it was used to punish people with whom others did not agree, rather than to call out people who behaving badly (rude, foul mouth, hijackers, disruptors, etc.), regardless of their stated opinions. It created a very hostile environment and many people were driven away from these forums, something I do not care to see. Today, I see very few forums that still use it.
Now, with the new ability to LIKE both threads and posts, you can leave positive reinforcement where appropriate, rather than dwelling on the negative. IMO, It is better to praise people who do well, rather than to criticize those who do not. The latter will learn from the former.

I initially decided against it for reasons I can no longer recall  Give me some input, why that vs. just posting a pic in the thread itself?

Unless I missed it I can't post pics via tapatalk. I can only link to an already hosted pic. I'm fine with any solution that lets me post one like my other tapatalk forums.

One other FYI, this new machine, in addition to being much faster, is also located in Washington, DC rather than Texas. So, there is a lot less physical distance that should result in a performance increase.

OK, I have enabled Tapatalk Hosted Image Support on this forum. Please note that images uploaded using this mechanism are stored on the Tapatalk servers, not ours.

And I completely agree. Newbies were being bombarded with red karma and nasty comments, which runs them off. Yes, they could have reported it to me and I'd have knocked the offender out, but they don't think to do this. Now it's only positive and the Negative Nellies can pack sand. :yay:

FYI: I still have some more tweaking to to do over the next few days. Will also have some major new features to announce in the next few days. That's a wrap for this weekend.

Thank you for the show of appreciation -- better than cash :)
I just fixed a problem with assigning a graphic image for your social group. There should be no further problem uploading images.
I also confirmed that the upload for the new user photo albums is operational.

May be, but I'll bet when you start pulling 300GB-400GB of data a month, Verizon would either raise your rates significantly or cut you off altogether.
