The old bridge in Cambridge might have made you jump.

The Bay Bridge is nothing but can be an easy exit.

How is your son liking SU?

Wenchy, he seems to be liking Salisbury U. ok. Did good on his first semester and just returned for his second semester. Knock on wood his grades seemed pretty good first semester one A and the rest B's. Has a tougher course schedule this semester so have my fingers crossed.

Bridge jumpers are the most inconsiderate asses in the world. Leave a car laying in the road so they can bid the cruel world farewell, blocking traffic, causing mayhem. For god's sake, if you're going to kill yourself can't you at least do it in a way that doesn't inconvenience others?

Yeah really, what are these people thinking? I've always thought that the ones who off themselves at home, knowing their little innocent children may be the ones to find them, were the most inconsiderate. At least jumping off a bridge doesn't leave a huge mess or the visual of a dead person for the family to deal with. All in all, suicide is a selfish act but obviously someone who's that mentally stable doesn't care about anyone/anything anymore. Sad.

Good point and yes, those who leave their gory remains for a loved one to find should get an especially hot seat in hell. And how'd you like to live in a house knowing your parent's brains used to be splattered on one of the walls?

Inconsiderate asses.

Inconsiderate asses. How would you like to be the bayfront homeowner that finds the decaying body two weeks from now washed up on their shore? Not pretty.
Most people that commit suicide are not in their right minds, to them at that moment their problems have no better solution. How many times have many of us thought things were so bad that they could never get better? Then down the road you can look back and see that things do improve and life gets better. Usually people commit suicide because of love, money or drugs.
There was a guy years ago that parked his car in the middle of the bridge and rollerskated off to the other side. He was wanted by the law and that is why he did it. They caught him after thinking he had committed suicide.

All in all, the guys who walk into the woods, lie down and die are the most considerate. Maybe someone will find the skull or some bones in a few months, or not.

My grandfather parked his old beat up truck on the main street of their little town at like 4am and shot himself (his Alzheimer's was getting worse and he wanted to take care of business while he still could). The town cop found him when he did his drive-through, before anyone else was up and about.

Well-planned, considerate, the truck was junk anyway, no loved ones found him... That's the way it should be done. :yay:

A few years ago someone went to a local church, dug his own grave, and did himself in right there. Now that's considerate!

I hate to compliment a criminal, but that is a cool idea. Plus it had to be fun to skate 2 miles downhill to the other side.

I happen to know the family of this tragedy. Most of the comments on this thread are truly despicable and disgusting.
If you knew the pain and agony that this family is going through you would keep your vile comments to yourself.
Not one of you are respectful or even decent.
It must be easy to blog away every inane, hurtful, horrible thing that passes through your mind and have not a care in the world what it does to other people.

be a whole bunch of empty pages on this forum if we never talked about anything because it might be offensive to someones family.

fact is, a jumper is news, and a jumper is selfish.
Maybe more energy should be spent on how much HE hurt the family by doing what HE did, not how much the public talks about what HE did.

...in other words, slam people, make rude, cruel disgusting remarks, everyone can make themselves look so much better, smarter, funnier & clever than the next guy. Because after all that is what hiding behind most of these posts is about.
Not once, not one time has anyone said how sorry to see something tragic like this happen, how horrible this must be for this young man's family & friends, not once. If the family ever reads the trash talk on this thread they would be absolutely sickened.
Everyone has a right to post whatever they want, but human beings should also have a little empathy in their hearts for how truly brutal their words can wound.

What the heck is wrong with you? Did you just happen to find these forums? No, I'll bet you already post here under a different name AND also *happen* to know the person who committed suicide. If you won't post your true feelings under your own name - then YOU are hiding behind your computer screen in order to chastise everyone else.

The fact that the jumper jumped off a public bridge makes it the public's business. It's news. It's a public forum, sweetie.

If the jumper's family is running to the SOMD.com forums to find out if something is being said about them, I feel sorry for them. I doubt they are - because they're probably grieving over their loved one. If YOU run to tell the family that people on the SOMD.com forums are saying "disgusting and vile" things about their family member - that's on you, honey.

If it bothers you that much - click the little X in the upper right hand corner and don't read what anyone says. It's really that easy.

I am truly sorry for what he has done to his family/friends. They'll never be the same because of his actions, never. As I said in my earlier post, suicide is a truly selfish act and I have no respect for anyone who kills themself. By ending their own pain, they inflict a lifetime of pain on countless others. I'd feel the same way if it was my loved one who did this. I'd be devastated and I'd be beyond pissed off. I've been through it so I feel for those he's left behind a lot more than I feel for him.

 It's my screen name here on SOMD.com forums - and has been since I started posting in 2006. I post here daily, and some forum people have met me in person.

So yeah, I post my true feelings under this screen name. All the time.

Unlike someone with only 37 posts who started posting in 2007, sporadically over the years until late 2011, and then has been semi-regular until now. Maybe you should show some empathy. :coffee:

My guess is it's short for Barbara Ann.

Well, guess all you want - it's a free country! :yay: :yay:

Besides - who would care what my real life name is? Nearly everyone who posts here posts under their screen name. It's customary and usual on the intrawebz.

"Inkah" came in and jumped on me because I called out "Emphathy" for coming into a public forum and slamming everyone for posting about a public event.

My guess was Empathy created an MPD to post because she was afraid to post in her regular screen name. Inkah jumped in to post a strawman argument about my real name - when everyone knows & understands that most people do post under one "real" screen name.

At least I post in my real screen name all the time and don't have to hide behind an obvious MPD.

But thanks for playing!!:bann:
