Lots of bailt and marked fish but there was no joy in Mudville. Heard of some boated (one was 64 lbs) and a few bluefin. The highlight of the day was the whales within 1/2 mile of the beach! Only had the cell camera so I missed some great full body out of the water shots.

Filled our limit of 10 in an hour back on Jan. 14 but only snagged a couple the following day and a shark.

Even saw a Navy Hoovercraft.

That was an ambitious little shark.

That was an ambitious little shark.I know. His mouth was really small yet he tried to swallow that large lure. It's a dog shark.

Where in Mudville were you..better yet..where were you ?
What kind of whales? The profile reminds me of humpbacks.
What kind of fish is a bailt?
What are marked fish? Marked for death or some thug activity?

Bluefin I know..same with stripers, as we call them in Buzzards Bay..but the others...:shrug:

bailt = bait (typo) schools of menhaden/alwives
marked = saw them on the fishfinder

If you're marking bait and/or fish, you're seeing the blips on the fishfinder.

Fished out of Rudee Inlet on Saturday, but didn't manage to get a bluefin. Saw plenty of humpbacks and an aircraft carrier though.
