Currently, the United States pays 25% of the United Nations’ bills.

Is that all? Shoot, considering we're the only ones that have any money, I thought it would be higher.
Did we ever make good on all those back UN dues we "owed"? :lmao:

I think the US finally paid off the $1.5 billion debt to the UN in 2002. Prior to 2002 we were by far the biggest deadbeat when it came to meeting our agreed on obligations to the UN. As for cutting funding, isn't that why we had such a large debt to start with? Because we withheld funding as a way of pressuring the UN into doing what we want? If the US wants to withdrawal from the UN, then let it withdrawal. But otherwise we should pay what we agreed to pay.
What a great deal, pay the huge dues, then turn around and provide 95% of all troops and equipment, 95% of all aid, 95% of all disaster relief, 95% of all security operations, while stellar countries like Angola, Phillipines, and Benin sit on the security cousel, were the US has never been the President of the General Assembly, where the country of Myanmar has had more Secretaries General than we have, where we have to put everyone else ahead of our own wants/needs, where 80% of all resolutions go ignored.
Get out now and raise the rent on the UN building.
