I have, in the last year, lost 50lbs. Prior to that I had 3 kids, all by c-section. So, my abdomen is in bad shape. What is the best way to firm up my belly and help get rid of the belly fat? I am still dieting. There is this great plan that I have been following. I have done so well that my coach talked me into becoming a coach. And now I have 2 clients of my own. But, I need help with my belly. Any ideas?

Tummy tuck. There's no way to spot reduce fat, unfortunately.

You're not gonna start selling shakes, are you? :coffee:

Clients? What does that mean? Do you get paid for helping people get in shape? Very cool idea!

Oh, and to the original topic, good luck! I've had eight children, and managed to get myself into better condition than in my whole life. However, the loose-y goose-y skin on my belly I just can't seem to tighten up. I imagine hundreds of sit ups a day would do it, but that's not going to happen.

No, I am not going to start selling shakes. I don't sell anything. I coach people into better health.

Sort of...it's such a small amount though. I just enjoy seeing people get happier each week when they get on the scale and see that they have lost another pound or two.

Do you do a lot of exercising? How old are your kids? So far, I am only able to get on the treadmill a few times a week. I know I need to do more than the treadmill, we have a BowFlex, but I just can't seem to find the time.

Your stomach muscles may be too stretched at this point. If so, all the crunches in the world won't make a difference. Ask your doctor to perform an examination -- he/she will be able to determine your internal structure to see if diet/exercise can get you the stomach you want. Good luck!

So, am I looking toward surgery once I get to my goal weight?

Oh come on and do those hundreds of sit ups a day! I'm sure with 8 kids you just have tons of free time! :lmao:

Which is it? Belly fat or loose skin? There are different ways to attack each problem.

My youngest is two, but since I have teens I can leave him with them and get my workouts taken care of. When I first started exercising I did something, no matter how small, each day. Now I alternate between swimming and running 3-4 days a week. It's really hard to fit in when you've only got little ones around.
