Just finished reading the wedding cost survey and the stats on how long marriages are lasting and wondered how long people here have been married. My wife and I will be at 24 years in May, how about the rest of you?

21 years in March.

My mom and dad were married for 40 years before my dad died... my MIL & FIL were married for just shy of 60 years before my MIL died. All grandparents for me and for hubby were all married until "death do us part"... so we see longevity in a marriage as normal.

6 and a half years, and we both come from broken homes. But our parents are all happily remarried to spouses that are better suited for them, so there is a lesson in that.

It'll be 6 years for us and we too both come from divorced parents. We dated for a year, got engaged and were married 9 months later in Las Vegas. And if I may add -- the 9 months we were engaged included NO wedding planning. I was sitting at my desk one afternoon and received a text from now hubby that said "Let's go to Las Vegas and get married." Three weeks later we were leaving BWI for LV.

How modern - texting a marriage proposal.

I said in the other thread - 9 years first time around, 13 years the second. So I'm getting better at this marriage thing. Next time around I'm shooting for 15 years. :yay:

22 years in August and I'll be the 1st to say it openly in this thread because I know we are not the only ones out there. My husband and I grew up together and when a couple grows up together, they do a lot of rotten ass things to each another over the years. When we stop to reminisce, we know that it is a miracle we stayed together and we are grateful in the here and now that we have... We always had it all but never appreciated it as much as we should have.

To be really honest with you, I couldn't tell ya cuz I've never met Pixie. I've only chatted with her and she has a wonderful online personality. However, you never know who you're talking to online until you actually meet someone in person and find out if they are anything like their online personality. Some people disguise themselves very well behind the internet mask. It may be surprising to some of you, but I actually like to get to know the real person (and not just an image that my mind has created) before I would pursue anything.

Frankly, I'm a big jokester, enjoy having a good time, and I visit the forums not just for local information but also to make some online friendships, have fun, and maybe get a laugh or two. Anything wrong with that?

Do you like redheads who love 4" heels? I think I have a match for ya....:coffee:

Hank,
Thanx, but no thanx. Not much into blind dates. :cds:
I learned a long time ago not to let anyone else play "Love Connection" for me and try to set me up. Cuz that's just what it is: "A set up!!!"

I'm a big boy and can pick my own bad dates!! :lmao: :killingme
