1553; 33 requesting only charge the 4 inch, not the 3 inch
1554; Requesting a second hand line inside
1555; Chief 6 with command, Chief 6A with operations
1556; Safety 6 reporting the roof is about to collapse
1557; Interior reports no visible fire on the inside
1558; Safety reports the back side of the roof has completely caved in
1559; Requesting a 14 foot ladder to the inside
1559; Reporting fire is contained to the kitchen area so far, checking the next exposure down for extension
1602; Bulk of the fire is knocked down
1602; Power is secured, no extension to adjoining businesses
1603; Made access to the attic, fire is out. Requesting a crew to the roof to remove the heat and smoke
1609; Releasing Engine 72, Truck 1 and Tower 9
1610; Also returning Company 4 units
1614; Rt 5 is shut down in both directions. If you're heading home from work, avoid the area as major delays are happening
1625; Beginning foam operations

I'm really starting to hate a building fire.....

I sure hope that the damage was limited to only the cooking room. Curtis will have that rebuilt in record time, I'll bet.

I hope so, too. They have so many antiques and collectibles in the back room it would be such a shame to lose that, too. I've known him for 30+ years and know he and Angie will get it done. :yay:

Many thanks to all of the hands that helped...we were able to save 90 percent of the actual building. Everything in the back is ok, and the majority of the stuff in the kitchen/front walk in area is ok. Fire was contained to the cockloft above the kitchen.

Again, great job to the crews from the Valley, my Boys from 3 and 9, the boys from Leonardtown, and the crew from Hollywood. Quick, smart, tactics by all involved. Great Job!!!
