does anyone have any wisteria that they've pulled up from their yard and don't want any more? If yes, I'd love to have some. I have some hosta to trade maybe??? Thank you

Hey, you're in Huntingtown too. I'll meet you on Emmanuel Church Rd and we'll steal some off the side of the road together. Or we could take it off the bus stop outside the trooper barracks. :killingme

I read somewhere that the wisteria growing on the bus stop seat/trellis thingie in Pr Fred is a remnant of the wisteria that grew there when there was an old hotel on that lot. I'm not sure if I'm remembering that correctly but I think that's what I read.
I like stuff with some history attached to it. For instance, the hydrangeas I have growing in my yard are from cuttings from an old hydrangea bush in my hubby's grandfather's yard down in North Carolina. The old family house in NC is practically falling down but the bush still blooms like crazy. And, I have one white hydrangea bush that is from a cutting from my Mom's yard down in Florida. My roses are from cuttings that my Dad grew for me about a year before he died.
Sounds weird, I know, but I love it.

Not weird, anyone who enjoys gardening can appreciate plants with a story. My Dad's entire side of the family is full of great gardeners. I'm trying, wish my Dad was still alive to help me. But our yard is slowly getting there. I think he'd love it here with all the flowers. I'll be making a couple of trips back home (NY) this summer & fall. I plan to help myself to some plants from my parent's yard and probably my Grandma's too! :yahoo:

It takes time to get your yard the way you want it. I try to keep things simple where I don't have to do alot of hand work. I put alot of stuff in pots for my deck and then everything in the yard I like to be able to just mow around it.
I have some oakleaf hydrangeas and some standard hydrangeas that have thrown off new independent shoots. You're welcome to them if you'd like to dig them up. The adult plants are just gorgeous. And, if you need some hosta, I have some extra already in pots if you'd like some.
Have fun getting plants for your parent's and Grandma's yard. :)
