Since all of you "non-demons" do not have church per-se, do you tithe?
Is it "Biblical" to help the poor i.e. Lazarus?
Or.....do you just tip the barmaid at RR more for putting up with you?
Or.... do you open up a stripmall church to condemn churches?
Or.....is there a way to help the lost other than just condemning the established Religions by standing on your soapbox?
Or....do you keep all you earn for yourself, because it is not Biblical to share?
In other words, what do you give, besides rhetoric?

All you have are words, you have no ass behind your words, you only repeat, repeat and repeat.
What have you done besides repeating your version of Scripture.
The OP asked, do you tithe or just talk?

No tithes, but a fairly long list of charities and causes, NMCRS, girl scouts, a family whose husband left without looking back, along with sending money to the kids occasionally.

Are you a "non-denominational"?

Actually, No. Tithing 10% of your salary is not a New Testament obligation nor requirement for Salvation or to be in God's good graces like many religious leaders want you to think. If you are giving out of obligation and having a guilt trip put on you by your church leader then you are giving for the wrong reason.
I give of my time and resources financial and material to help others even when they are unaware but to stipulate this as being the type of "tithing" you are referring to as monetary to a specific church the answer is no.
BTW: I co-hosted a self-supported Christian radio program for two years and didn't ask for people to send money to support the ministry.
Instead, I asked the listeners that if they felt like giving something for the Lord's work then find a neighbor whose children may need some new school clothes or a pair of new shoes and go buy those for them. If they knew of a needy family, take them a box of groceries.
That's The Truth!

What do you do other than rally for higher taxes so that money can be redistributed?
and yes, I do tithe, with my money, and my time. But I do it as I see fit, and as I can afford and through the Church as intended.
If it is done by force of taxation and redistribution, can it really be considered an act of giving?
I must of "accidentally" switched my n and m.

I just assumed that is what you meant. :killingme

I'm thinking spending money on drugs (including tobacco), booze... prostitutes in Columbia... etc.

No, those things are done so you get more out of communion on Sunday morning.
Back in the day, before I was married, there were some Sundays that I had to go through the communion line 3 or 4 times just to get them all.

Stupid comment.
I make Larry Gude look liberal.
It was a question directed to "non-denominationals" who don't traditionally go to a "Church"

Oh in that case....
My husband and I haven't settled into a particular church (we church shop). But whenever we visit we leave a donation in the plate. We also give to charities. I believe in giving back as much as I possibly can. So we donate money, items and volunteer time to various charities and organizations. However, I have been scammed a time or two in the past, so I always research the charity / cause that I'm donating to. I also have some hard feelings right now with the Susan G. Komen fund (which I guess is off topic) and some other "charities" that receive a lot of federal funding (I'm not giving if they are taking without my permission). A "Tithe" is 10% and we give much more than that when you factor everything in.

I know right! These people that like to sit back and throw stones at other people's religions make me sick. If they only knew that their pastor was having an affair with a member of the congregation, the church treasurer was embezzling funds, etc. I know this doesn't happen with all of these non-denominational churches, but you read about it rather often. Remeber the save-the-seed ministry or something or other that was in the paper recently for bankruptcy fraud and hiding hundreds of thousands of dollars in assets? And some churches, puh-lease...are meat markets. Including one on route 301 near White Plains/La Plata area. It sends flyers to people telling them to feel free to wear jeans to church, and talks about the modern music and concerts they play, buts says NOTHING about Christ. Daggone hypocrites.
Did you ever think that they are trying to make people comfortable with the idea of going to church by offering them a relaxed atmosphere? Of course they preach about Christ but the hard part is getting someone comfortable enough to even walk in the door.

All churches, denominational or non-denominational, are flawed. They involve humans and humans are flawed.
Many people don't go to church because they think a church is full of hypocrites because the members of the congregation do things that are sinful. Ding! Churches are full of sinners. We are all sinners. Sinners congregate together; some congregate in bars and some congregate in churches; some congregate to get drunk and some congregate to get redeemed.
Tithing is just as much a part of the New Testament as it is the Old. Jesus did not come to abolish the law but to fulfill it. Matthew 5:17-19
New American Standard Bible (NASB)
17 “Do not think that I came to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I did not come to abolish but to fulfill. 18 For truly I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter or stroke shall pass from the Law until all is accomplished. 19 Whoever then annuls one of the least of these commandments, and teaches others to do the same, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever keeps and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. Tithing should go to the church. If you think your church is misusing the tithes and offerings, challenge the pastor and leaders about it. If you still think they are misusing funds, then find a different church. Offerings and charity go beyond the tithe.
