Me & Julio Down By the School Yard, of course.

The mama pajama rolled out of bed
And she ran to the police station
When the papa found out he began to shout
And he started the investigation

It's against the law
It was against the law
What the mama saw
It was against the law.

The mama look down and spit on the ground
Every time my name gets mentioned
The papa said, "Oy, if I get that boy,
I'm gonna stick him the house of detention."

Well I'm on my way.
I don't know where I'm going
I'm on my way I'm taking my time
But I don't know where
Goodbye to Rosie the queen of Corona
See you, me and Julio down by the school yard
See you, me and Julio down by the school yard

In a couple of days they come and take me away
But the press let the story leak
And when the radical priest come to get me released
We was all on the cover of Newsweek

And I'm on my way
I don't know where I'm going
I'm on my way
I'm taking my time but I don't know where
Goodbye to Rosie the queen of Corona
See you, me and Julio
Down by the school yard
See you me and Julio
Down by the school yard
See you me and Julio
Down by the school yard

What a flashback! My best friend and I in the late 60's playing ping pong: every time the score got to 18-14, we would bust into that song. So would our moms and dads whenever they heard us.

Most Iron Maiden songs tell a story.

hovaBRK8Fe8

I remember it was plain as day
although it happened in the dark of the night.
I was strolling through the streets of Paris
and it was cold it was starting to rain.
And then I heard a piercing scream
and I rushed to the scene of the crime
what I found were the butchered remains
of two girls layin' side by side.

Murders in the Rue Morgue
someone call the Gendarmes
Murders in the Rue Morgue
flee before the killers go free

There's some people coming down the street
at last someone heard my call
I can't understand why they're pointing at me
I never done nothing at all.
But I got some blood on my hands
because everybody's shouting at me
I can't speak French so I couldn't explain
and like a fool I started running away.

Murder in the Rue Morgue
someone call the Gendarmes
Murder in the Rue Morgue
am I ever gonna be free.

And now I've gotta get away from the arms of the law.
All of France is looking for me.
and I've gotta find my way across the border for sure
down the south to Italy.

Murders in the Rue Morgue
runnin' from the Gendarmes
Murders in the Rue Morgue
I'm never going home.

Well I made it to the border with luck
But I can't remove the scene from my mind
Anytime somebody stares at me, well
I just start running blind
Well I'm moving through the shadows at night
Away from the staring eyes
Any day they'll be looking for me
'Cause I know I show the signs of...

Murders in the Rue Morgue
I'm running from the Gendarmes
Murders in the Rue Morgue
running from the arms of the law

Murders in the Rue Morgue
running from the Gendarmes
Murders in the Rue Morgue
am I ever gonna be free

It took so long and I'm getting so tired
I'm running out of places to hide
Should I return to the scene of the crime
Where the two young #####es died
If I could go to somebody for help
To get me out of trouble for sure
But I know that inside my mind
Well I've got to say I've done it before.

Murders in the Rue Morgue
they're never gonna find me
Murders in the Rue Morgue
I'm never going home.

Oh! Three steps mister! Skinner.

Skynyrd. And it's "Gimme Three Steps." :lmao:

How about "Ode to Billie Jo": "Today Billy Joe MacAllister jumped off the Tallahatchie Bridge"

"Alice's Restaurant": ""You can get anything you want at Alice's Restaurant"

"Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald":
"The legend lives on from the Chippewa on down
of the big lake they called "Gitche Gumee."
The lake, it is said, never gives up her dead
when the skies of November turn gloomy.
With a load of iron ore twenty-six thousand tons more
than the Edmund Fitzgerald weighed empty,
that good ship and true was a bone to be chewed
when the "Gales of November" came early."

Or one of my favorites - Weird Al's "Trapped in the Drive-In": "She says "Is this 'Behind the Music' with Lynyrd Skynyrd?" And I say "I don't know. Say, it's gettin' late...what you wanna do for dinner?" And it goes on for another 10 minutes or so.

And do TV theme songs count? I think "The Beverly Hillbillies" and "Gilligan's Island" themes should qualify.

"Legend of the USS Titanic"
Legend of the U.S.S. Titanic, by Jaime Brockett (http://www.rkdn.org/titanic%20lyrics.htm)
You really need to hear it tho, I think there's a youtube video.
Oh... VERY not PC....

O-h-h-h, this just brings us up to what's happenin' again folks. The Titanic she's sailin' around in between the icebergs. Every body else is havin parties. The Jewish people they jumpin' up n' down they tradin' wives n' Cadillacs n' diamonds n' drinkin' booze. Everybody else is hoistin' up land lubbers, battenin' down hatches n' doin' sail things. The First Mate's hangin' over there on the rail havin' himself a little smoke n' diggin' icebergs. And the Captain's out cold on the wheelhouse floor.

It was midnight on the sea,
the band was playin' "Nearer My God To Thee"
Fare thee well Titanic,
fare thee well.
Now he wouldn't let Jack Johnson on board
they said this ship don't haul no coal
Fare thee well Titanic,
fare thee well.

Born free, as free as the wind blows
As free as the grass grows
Born free to follow your heart

Live free and beauty surrounds you
The world still astounds you
Each time you look at a star

Stay free, where no walls divide you
You're free as the roaring tide
So there's no need to hide

Born free, and life is worth living
But only worth living
'Cause you're born free

(Stay free, where no walls divide you)
You're free as the roaring tide
So there's no need to hide

Born free, and life is worth living
But only worth living
'Cause you're born free

We did a skit as teens to this when it came out, all our parents found humor in it. My best friends mom being main character. Some of the neighbors whose names were inserted didn't see any humor. Imagine that... the truth hurts and being delivered by us stabbed more I guess. Funny thing is, there was someone to fit each character exactly to a tee. We didn't make it up. lol

Interesting little 'Garden Apartment' complex I lived in.
