Has anyone ever tried this? Saw it in Shape Magazine. Kinda pricey, wanted some input before I bought one.

Is that the thing that makes "ice cream" out of a banana? You don't need it. Just freeze a couple of bananas and whip them up in the food processor for about 5 minutes, stopping to scrape down the sides every so often. Same thing, less cabinet space wasted on silly gadgets.

I thought "Yonanas" was a slang term for baZOOMS! when I read it. :snort:

Okay, even though I went on record as saying this was a useless appliance, I still went ahead and bought one. :jet: My dad sent me money for my birthday so technically he bought it for me. I will say that I'm very impressed. So far I've only tried yonana-ing bananas and I would say that the consistency is more firm than soft serve but less than hand dipped, if that makes sense. Like when you go to cold stone and they mix up your ice cream on the slab - kind of like that. I don't think that could be recreated with just a food processor. It tastes just like banana ice cream and is so so good! Any milk other than skim gives me a stomachache, so I like being able to eat an ice cream type of dessert without feeling icky afterward. I have some frozen berries and pineapple in the freezer so I have some more taste testing to do. I have a feeling this will be getting a lot of use this summer.

glad to hear it! i tried the food processor thing, didn't work out so well. all my fitness mags give yonanas a heads up. i'm def investing in one. cant' really find them anywhere for less than the $49.99 they advertise.
