The last day of the 2011-12 school year for Charles County Public Schools students is Monday, June 11. Two-hour early dismissal days are June 6, 7, 8 and 11. The last day of school for students in the Three's Program is Tuesday, June 5. The last day of school for teachers is Thursday, June 14. Teachers will attend training activities on Tuesday, June 12, and Wednesday, June 13.
Charles County Public Schools used three of the four student days built into the calendar during the first two weeks of the school year for inclement weather. The Board of Education approved three make-up days for students – Sept. 16, Oct. 21 and Nov. 2 – to restore days for possible use during the winter. Two of the days were teacher training days, leaving teachers to make up those dates on June 12 and June 13.
Elementary school report cards will be issued to students on June 11. Report cards for middle and high school students will be mailed home on Monday, June 18.
Registration for the 2012 Summer School program will begins at the Robert D. Stethem Educational Center on Wednesday, June 27, and Thursday, June 28. Times are 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. No registrations will be accepted after 7 p.m. on June 28.
Classes begin for Summer School students on Thursday, July 5, at Westlake High School in Waldorf. The last day of summer school classes is Thursday, Aug. 2. Graduation is 4 p.m. at Westlake on Aug. 2.
