I'm looking for an eye doctor. I prefer St. Mary's County but I'm okay with any location in somd. I'd rather get in to see an ophthalmologist but I'll take whatever at this point. Any suggestions? I feel like I have some weird vision issues and while I'm sure they're nothing, I'd like to ease my paranoia. Thanks for any help!

If you want an opthalmologist, I recommend either Dr.Clark or his partner Dr. Tibold in Leonardtown, they are in the shopping center where McKays is. Phone # 301-997-1820.
I've been going to them for years and love both of them.

In addition to the two ophthalmology practices mentioned, there are two more in the county:
- Eye Physicians of St Marys (part of medstar/St Marys hospital) in Charlotte Hall (Drs Bovelle, Whitten and Wang)
- Dr Oboh-Weilke in Hollywood.

Sorry but NK is great with something but he has not changed with the times. I know for a fact I have more history with him then anyone else on this board. My father has paid for every car and collage bill he has ever had.

Very good up to date offices and doctors. Dr. Oboh-Weilke is only in Hollywood a few days a week, thats my only issue there.

Dr. Laheri botched a cataract removal on one of my mother's eyes, wrinkling the cornea and leaving it that way. Up until that time we thought very highly of him, too. Mom elected not to sue, but her vision in that eye was permanently ruined and the wrinkled cornea gave it an unnatural twinkle depending on the direction light was coming from.

dr. lahari is awful i wouldn't trust him ever again... i went to him once and i was wearing bifocals and he totally took me out of glasses saying i didn't need them and went as far as to taking my pair from me...i suffered for 3 months with bad headaches and not being able to see very well then went to an eye doctor in va who said wtf he doesn't know much about eyes...ever since that 1 time i been going to virginia to have my eyes checked as i don't trust any of the eye doctors down here.

Really now -- who would walk around for 3 months not being able to see? I don't buy this story.

Laheri is a nice man. But, as a eye doctor I'm not real happy about. I went to him 15 years ago due to loosing vision. He told me if God wanted me to loose my vision than I would loose my vision. :cds: Come to find out a year or so later it was a serious medical condition. I can't be TOO hard on Lahari because two other eye doctors missed it to. Finally my family doctor figured out what it was.

I have nothing but good to say about Dr Laheri, but if you just need an eye glasses or contacts perscription Dr Heavner (Optometrist) at Target in California is top notch.
