hope no one hurt. That's a tricky area.

It wouldn't be so bad if people would just do 40. That would allow safer gaps and more of them. But when people insist on speeding through that area it is hard for those trying to lawfully come out to know that somebody is zooming up over that hill and it's hard for the speeder to slow down in time to not t-bone the person pulling out. The other offenders are those zooming from the left to the right lane to avoid those turning left and then zooming from the right to the left without turn signals or taking into account someone from the Ledos area is already attempting to take the gap that was there a second ago.

What I do if I'm coming out of Moakley is to turn right.....even if I want to go left. I'll go down to the intersection at CVS and do a looie. (a U'ie?)

I never exit Moakley. I will go up and exit either at the hospital if I'm going right or out Doctor's Crossing if I'm going left.

Sorry, kwil, but slowing to 40 doesnt open up gaps, nor does it make more of them. And unless the speeder is going 80, there's plenty of time to see someone coming from either direction. What happened in this case, we dont know, but no matter what, it it's unsafe to pull out, dont. Or, as I and a lot of others apparently do, pull out going north, then turn around at the next safe chance. People get impatient, and decide "Screw it, they better make way", and bad things happen. Another problem is older drivers, more of them there than average, and older drivers are not always on top of their driving game.

Three Vehicle Accident in Leonardtown - Southern Maryland News, Charles County, Calvert County and St. Mary's County News (http://thebaynet.com/news/index.cfm/fa/viewstory/story_ID/27574)

Story is up. Looks like the Focus is the lemon creme in a minivan cookie. So, first minivan was stopped, or came to a stop, Focus hit it, then was rear ended in turn by the minivan behind it.

Why did the first minivan stop? And how suddenly? Doesn't matter, citation-wise, since rear ending someone means you were not paying attention, or had an improper following distance.

Cut through the hospital lot and turn right onto 245. then you have a traffic light for your turn onto Rt.5

So true. My father-in-law will pull right out in front of people, even towing the boat - his attitude is, "It's OK, they see me." Still doesn't give you the right of way! That seems to be the attitude of a lot of people here. I'm tired of getting honked at because I actually wait until it is safe to pull out, I never want to count on someone else slowing down for me.

Have you ever had someone pull around you on the right;someplace like the 235/4 WaWa? Yeah, yeah.....this tred is about L'town.....
Somebody pulled that trick on me not too long ago; cut somebody off and d*mn near got rear-ended.
Patience people; wait for the car in front of you to move.
If you're in THAT big of a hurry; to risk causing an accident; you shoulda left a little earlier. Just sayin'.....
