At what age do you choose to move on to a toddler bed? I've been looking at toddler beds but they look like the kids/babies can just roll out?

We went straight to a twin bed with a rail when my kids reached around 2...or when they were tall enough to put their leg over the rail.

:yeahthat: If they can put their leg over the rail, they can fall out of a crib, which would be bad if they hit their head on furniture on the way down, or worse, on the floor.

We used a twin bed for both of the Things. We put the box spring and mattress right on the floor for awhile without the frame, until they were used to the bed. Worked like a charm! It's a progression type of thing, because when they are ready, you can just simply add the frame or headboard, foot board, etc. You also save money by not having to buy different beds or accessories for the bed which you are stuck with when they outgrow them. (Rails, etc.)

That's what we did too.

When my Kids were able to climb out of the Crib, is when we went to Twin beds. I kept the Crib Mattress under the bed to pull out at bed time, so if they fell, they hit that mattress. My first was 18 months old, and the second was about 10 months old. The Crib Mattress came in handy for Sleep-Overs.

18 months and used a twin bed. Set it up directly on the floor until they were used to it.

When they kick the end out of the crib.
