I had some friends in town over the weekend, and we planned to go to Vera's on Friday night. We got there at about 10:30pm, and the place was closed. No one in the parking lot, and all the lights were off.

Anyone know why?

I'd be curious to know as well, we called on a friday for the shuttle and they said they closed at 10 that night. And they had a band scheduled and said there wasn't going to be one after all.

Yea, we wanted to go see some live music, and their website said a band would be playing.

We ended up going to Calypso Bay in Solomons....last time we go there.

We went there in the beginning of the month on a Friday and they were supposed to have a band. There was no band and the bartender told us they were closing at 10:00. I asked him why their website said they were going to have a band and he said that they have been so slow on Fridays that they cancelled the Friday night bands for the rest of May. They are supposed to start having Friday bands again in June but I would definatley call before planning to go over there.

Just not my thing I guess. Seemed like all the thugs came out that night, guys had to pay a cover, and girls got in free, so it turned into a sausage-fest, the DJ didn't play antything but rap the entire night, the bar lines were un godly long, rude people, etc.

Wow, I didn't know that they just close down when they don't think they're making money.

I've already been on a few Friday's this year, and it always seemed pretty crowded.....or maybe it's because the only time's I usually go is for Sam Grow Band.

It's actually 1.6 miles each way :cds:, and at least 10 minutes of driving. I could have been to Calypso by time I came out of the neighborhood.
