I was surprised to have 4G/LTE when I was mountain biking at Cedarville State Forest yesterday. Still only 3G at my house in Mechanicsville.

Got here in the Leonardtown/Mechanicsville/Hollywood area too!
Best reading on speedtest.net was ~23 Mbps down and ~10 Mbps up. Since verizon is my only source for broadband (no metrocast or dsl) I am pretty excited.

How do you tell if you have it in the area? Will it show 4G on a smartphone such as the iphone? Or do you have to have a 4G compatible phone?

You do need a 4g phone, and you might have to go into the settings and turn that function on. Lots of folks leave it off if they are not in a 4g area, because the phone will expend energy trying to find the 4g network.

Same here.. May have to look into a 4G hotspot for the house.. No Cable or DSL at home.

Nice! Best I've gotten is 14 down - Upload is always around 7-10m. I'm also in the "4G expanded coverage area" so my signal isn't quite as good as full blown 4G areas.
