Friends in Virginia were telling me how they have noticed the Maryland 'tax refugee' influx has become a flood lately.
Here's a great indicator:

Virginia has two political parties, we only have one and that gets you "special" sessions to raise taxes

Dont go to Canada, hung out with some conservative Canadians, all ex CF, of course:), they spent a lot of time complaining about taxes. One guy was refurbing his kitchen. It was cheaper for him to drive from north of Edmonton down into the states and smuggle appliances in, including a hotel stay and gas, than it would have been to pay the taxes.
