My nephew will be commissioned a 2nd Lt. in the USMC on Tuesday. Today we went to the Marine Corps Museum in Quantico. Had the privilege of meeting Frank Matthews, a very humble hero and survivor of the initial assault at Iwo Jima. Make it a point to go meet this man. He volunteers at the museum. He shook my nephew's hand and thanked him!

Congrats to the new 2nd Lt. And thank you to all the vets that have paid the price and gone on into eternity for their service, and to those of our greatest generation - that of the WWII era, for what they have done, and continue to do for our posterity.

Unbelievable day at the Academy today. I watched my brother watch his son become a 2nd Lt. in the USMC. My nephew's best friend from kindergarten just recently came back from Afghanistan to give him his first salute. It will be hard to top this Memorial Day weekend.
