Getting ready to walk out the back door and there it was, just to the left, nosing around.

We cleared everything, killed all grass/weeds near the foundation, got rid of anything that would attract mice (and therefore snakes) and yet, there he was.

I guess I'll start looking out the door window before going outside from now on.

Innocent garter - one of those striped/speckled ones, about 2 feet maybe a little more. He disappeared when I got back to take a pic.

We had one living under the steps by the front flower bed for a few years. haven't seen it this year yet.

I am praying not to encounter one this year, but they're being found all over the neighborhood so.....
