I've made some before, but I am interested in how others make their soft crabs.

Some boiled crab lump meat, tarter sauce, whole wheat bun - with a big kosher pickel with a cold draft beer - good God almighty which way do I steer for my........

This one looks good, close to what I do...

I thought there was a recipe that involved eggs; ie: an egg wash and seasoned flour dredge.

When I first read this, it didn't show the sandwich part so my answer was going to be coddle them when they are young.

I can never get past it looking like a fried tarantula, especially when you have eight little legs hanging off of the roll.

Whenever I hear somebody say that, I try to have a leg dangling out of the corner of my mouth while eating my sammich and make sure they see it.

not fussin, can u see sum of em eatin crawdads, let alone oysters on the half shell w/a tad Louisiana Hot Sauce, & mayb a cracker. Hell Yeah. shot of moonshine, & chase it w/a brew. but ya can`t beat a soft shelled crab sammich. or gator. froglegs. yum.

When I was waitressing at Captain Sam's CrabHouse (a few years ago), Father Paul came in and wanted to try something local on the menu.. I recommended the Soft Crab Sandwich.. He called me over after he received his plate and asked if it was supposed to look that that... I assured him it was great.. before he left that evening , he had eaten 3 or 4 total...

Fry it up after a dip in a good thick tempura batter bath. Or like my mom did, fry after a thick pancake batter seasoned with some Old Bay bath. Deep fry is the best way of course. Serve it up on your favorite bread or bun and enjoy.
