If you commute across the Harry Nice and use Virginia E-ZPass you may want to read this and send in your comments. What BS!

VDOT ACCEPTS PUBLIC COMMENTS FOR PROPOSED E-ZPASS FEE THROUGH JUNE 12, 2012 (http://www.virginiadot.org/newsroom/statewide/2012/vdot_accepts_public_comments58116.asp)

I like the way Federal and State claim they are not raising taxes, just fees on about EVERYTHING you can imagine! :coffee:

But if you have a virginia EZPASS account, this fee applies to you. Many who cross the NICE bridge have VA EZPASS accounts. I think this was just a general FYI to those folks....I found it useful and contacted VADOT to express my concerns.

Should I explain E-ZPass to you? If a Va commuter has Va E-ZPass it is good on the HNB. The toll eventually goes to MD through the system. So it doesn't mean anything about who tolls the crossing. My OP is valid.

I have an EZ Pass...

I read it wrong, and thought they were basically charging an extra $1 every time you pass through a VA toll.

I never said you OP wasn't valid, and I'm against any extra charges also.

MD already charges a monthly maintenance fee of $1.50 on every transponder.

Delaware does not charge such a fee, they do have a deposit on the transponder.

You dont have to be a resident of Delaware to use a DE DOT EZ pass. The only thing they require is that you incur a toll in DE once a year.
