i've beeen a verizon customer for over 10 years.
i've been having problems with my phone and internet, so i called customer service to schedule someone to come out and check my INSIDE wiring. they were supposed to come out today, so i took off this afternoon.
i was under the impression that i would be notified when they would come....no call, so i called them this morning, only to find out that a tech came by,earlier in the week, looked at the OUTSIDE line, determined that there wasn't a problem and closed the work order without leaving any type of notice on my door.
so i ask to speak with a customer service rep, only to be out on hold for about an hour. then, when someone finally gets on the line, i'm told that they can't come out today.
as much as i hate to do it, i'm cancelling verizon............
has anyone else had this kind of experience with verizon?

As much as I hate to do it, I say go higher. I had to do that last year and fought and fought. Found the number to the higher up corporate office and it got taken care of VERY quick. Hence the same reason- that I have been a customer for over 10 years.

It seems like there is at least one Verizon-bashing thread, every month.
Not defending them; I have had similar issues; I'm just makin' an observation.

Back when I used to install home theaters/smart homes. I can't tell you how many times I had to do DirecTV's/Comcast's/Verizon's job because they screwed everything up.

Their customer service does stink. I just got my phone connected and the service did not work. I have had 4 different phone calls with them and have been transfered in each of these phone calls on a minimum of 4 times. Each wait period is easily 20 minutes also. Each department is able to do only small parts fo the service so you can't avoid getting transfered. It a really bad model.

btw 48 hours means 3 weeks to them.

Still don't want to go through metrocast though. Once I can get away from their internet (thus when fios comes further down route 5), I am dropping them so fast its not funny. Can't say how many times a tech comes to "fix" the internet and they blame the wiring in your house. Until they replace every wire in your house without anything actually being fixed do they admit the whole time the problem was in their system.
