Stopped by one of my favorite Amish farms to get some eggs and to my surprise she had big beautiful tomatoes for sale. A small box of big ones for $4, a bigger box of smaller tomatoes for $4. Got them home and they are big, firm, meaty, juicy, and believe it or not taste like real tomatoes, not supermarket cardboard--grew-em-in-china-atoes. They grew them in their hot house.

She also had cabbage, onions, green beans, potatoes, squash, and zucchini.

I think the farm is Zimmerman's -- on Friendship School Road. Here it is on Google Maps:

Don't forget, they're closed on Sundays.

Well, I'm back.

Since nobody else has posted, I'll carry the torch again np. :)

Just wanted to mention that the new Arnold Sandwich Thins make a great tomato sandwich. Don't tend to get soggy like regular bread, thinner (taste more tomato less bread) and just the right size for a slice of meaty tomato. Yummy!

I went to Food Lion to look for Arnold Bread. They don't carry that Brand. Where did you get yours?

Walmart, my preference is the white for tomato sandwich. Honey wheat for my other masterpieces, but they're are great IMHO :)
