Since a femur break is not heard of that often, has osteoperosis or something like that been blamed?

Femur Fractures happen a lot more than you would think, especially if the above statement is true. Falls, and Car Wrecks are the biggest culprit. In the case of the Elderly, I guess Osteoporosis could be to blame. From what I've seen, most of those fractures are seen at the Head of the Femur, where the neck of the Femur meets the socket of the hip (just under the Ball). Whereas with the Traumatic Breaks (car wrecks), the fracture is mainly some where in the middle of the bone. I might be wrong, as this is my opinion.

Not sure about the osteoperosis part. She slipped on ice out the back door. One leg stayed in place and the other went flying. She was out of commission for a while.
