President Barack Obama’s reelection campaign has lost nearly 90 percent of its donors from the 2008 election.
According to a BuzzFeed analysis of campaign finance data, 88% of the people who gave $200 or more in 2008 — 537,806 people — have not yet given that sum this year. And this drop-off isn’t simply an artifact of timing. A full 87% of the people who gave $200 — the sum that triggers an itemized report to the Federal Elections Commission — through April of 2008, 182,078 people, had not contributed by the end of last month.

No, it is more like McIntosh to Golden Delicious.

Well then, shouldn't he have more, not less? The Clinton donors, the Edwards donors, etc. as a group should be giving to the one "nominee" this go around.
Either many of the donors think his reelection is a slam dunk and Obama doesn't need financial help, or they think its a lost cause and why waste the money. My guess its the latter.

Most people simply aren't in election mode yet, if you think its going to stay that way you are naive. I will wager he will raise the most money ever, well that and now he can use any public appearances as free campaigning.

That is probably true for most of us - but he's still behind where other incumbents have been at this point. There's definitely a loss of enthusiasm.
