In the unfortunate event of a zombie apocolypse, what is the appropriate response to having a loved one infected by the virus? Kill them or keep them with you regardless like in Shaun of the Dead.

In light of recent events, my husband and I discussed this last night and it appears that we have opposing viewpoints on this one...

He says you don't kill someone you love just because their sick, I say it's the humane thing to do....

I'm with you, MMM_Donuts... kill them out of pity (and self-preservation).

If you want him to feel better about the fact that you promise to still love him after you off him... have him watch this sweet video about a true story of a woman being hauled off in cuffs saying, "Killing him didn't make the love go away..." :smile:

I don't think anyone really knows what they could or couldn't do in a situation like that until they are faced with it but I agree with the previous post - they're not themselves and never will be again. I would want him to keep me from infecting others if I were a zombie - especially him.

I won't face this issue. I have loads of health issues and there's no way I could run to escape the hoard, so I'm not hanging around for it.

If you were the one infected what would you want your loved one to do? I would not want be the cause of my loved ones becoming infected. Therefore shoot me.

That's exactly how I feel! That's what started the conversation between me and my husband. He showed me that same video from above and we got to talking about that zombie guy being lucky someone didn't hurt him. Then I said something about killing me quickly if I got infected (no, I don't do bath salts, jut hypothetically speaking) and he got a little upset about it. He was like "I'm wouldn't kill you just because you were sick with an incurable illness!" We put it on Facebook and got a ton of responses.

Ever read World War Z? It's a really good semi-realistic zombie scenario. I've heard that this is addressed in The Walking Dead but we haven't watched it yet.
