Looking to get a new phone this summer. Is there a site where I can find reviews of phones that include ratings based on cell reception? My Droid Incredible has the world's WORST antennna. My reception sucks. That is the main requirement for me. If I cannot get reception, then the phone is not worth having.

Antenna? No kidding. What service do you have, and where are you operating it?

Typically, Motorola has the best reception. The RAZR HD will hopefully come out this summer. Otherwise, RAZR MAXX is probably the one to have. It's possible that Samsung will get their radios working well in the Galaxy S3, but I'm waiting for the reviews before I jump on board.

Verizon, live at the north end of Mechanicsville and cannot use my cell at home. Cannot use it in my office in Silver Spring. Signal sucks everywhere.

I have had real good luck with my Incredible and signal. I get 3 bars of signal in my basement and the closest tower to me is in Montross, VA.

Just remember to upgrade before shared data goes into effect or you will lose unlimited data.

Maybe try doing a *228 option 2?

When does that happen?

I want to know two things about that before upgrading:
1) When will it go into effect? At the moment, nobody (except VZW) knows.
2) What are the details of the shared data plans? Combined, my wife and I don't use 1GB/month, so a shared data plan could be a better option for us (depending on the details).

Since NMCI killed streaming altogether, I average about 5GB a month streaming radio all day.

Mid-summer. Pricing hasn't been released yet.
Just to be clear: Verizon has said that you will lose the unlimited data when you upgrade to a new device at a subsidized price. It seems that you may be able to keep unlimited data if you pay full price for the new phone. For those for whom unlimited data on their phone is pretty important, that may be an acceptable option.

Ummm...yeah. I knew that much, but it doesn't tell me when it's going to happen. For Verizon, "mid-summer" sometimes turns into the fall or winter...sometimes even the next spring. No official date = nobody knows when it will happen. And until there's a date, it's not worth worrying about.

You may have known (though you didn't indicate as much, so I couldn't have known that you did), but others may not have. And it apparently is worth worrying about to some - they want to upgrade to a new device before it happens, so an estimate for when it will happen matters. Realizing that it could be happening by mid-summer would mean that, if they wanted to make a move ahead of it, they would need to do so soon if they wanted to make sure to beat it.
At any rate, it appears that the date is June 28th. According to the Dow Jones Newswire, Verizon Wireless made the announcement today: Up to 10 devices covered, plans start at 1 GB for $50 and go up to 8GBs for $90.

Verizon unveils 'Share Everything' family plans for data | Mobile - CNET News (http://news.cnet.com/8301-1035_3-57450763-94/verizon-unveils-share-everything-family-plans-for-data/)
Holy Carp!!!!!! So, if we have four devices, thats $40 each basic service charge, and if we keep to a 4 gig plan shared between us, that's $70 dollars. Or $230 a month before universal Obamaphone charges and the standard nickel and diming. No savings for us there. Only saving grace was that I priced four smartphones with Sprint, and since they charge $80 or more for each additional line, it waas well over $350 a month for four smartphones over there. Thats unlimited, but even so.......
